Murhad Hussain

The Shackleton Foundation is delighted to announce our newest Leader - Murhad Hussain. Murhad has received a grant of £15,000 towards SpinLab, a community-focused venture which aims to create Aberdeen’s first full-time table tennis facility. SpinLab will provide affordable access to sport, youth coaching, wellbeing programmes and pathways for young people to develop skills, confidence and ambition.

With the Shackleton Funding Murhad will open and operate Aberdeen's first full-time dedicated table tennis facility providing a minimum of 30 young people from low-income backgrounds with regular, subsidised access to sport in Year 1

Murhad is an athlete, entrepreneur and IOC Young Leader, one of only 25 selected globally and the only representative from Great Britain in his cohort. Having experienced first-hand how sport can create confidence, discipline and opportunity, Murhad is now using table tennis to help others unlock their potential. We are delighted to add him to our growing list of Shackleton Leaders.
