On Tuesday 14th May we were fortunate to have Bertie Herrtage talk to us about what led him to help people from all over the UK to raise money for their ideas, businesses and communities. He spoke movingly about how he drew courage from these peoples’ stories which inspired him to lead a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to publish the ‘Crowdfunder Stories’ Magazine, promoting these 10 incredible projects who were finding positive solutions to tackling poor mental health in our society. A very topical subject particularly during Mental Health Awareness Week this week.
Bertie is a Senior Coach at Crowdfunder UK and in his role he is passionate about supporting others who are looking to run their own crowdfunding campaigns. He highlighted the importance to make time to do what you love and that actively taking part in your community helps to improve mental well being. He offered guidance on how our Leaders should set about creating their own crowdfunding campaigns and showed us some examples of previous successes. There was also an opportunity for Leaders, past and present, to engage with each other and to learn from each other’s experiences.
