September 2025 Surgery
This week we held our quarterly Shackleton Leaders surgery discussing issues that might be keeping our Leader's up at night! This session was led brilliantly by Sarah Sewell (Shackleton Leader since 2015 and previously Founder and CEO of Yes Futures) who shared some valuable insights about how to recruit and manage a team with lots of practical advice.
Sarah highlighted the importance of getting the person specification crystal clear. Think about what skills you want from this person. Then make sure you genuinely test those specifications in the interview process. She also emphasised the importance of onboarding and training new recruits and the value of setting all these systems up at the start.
Another really valuable session - we are really grateful to all our Leaders who contribute and share their experiences of setting up social enterprises.
